John Landes Jr.

John B. Landes Jr., age 86, born August 30 1931, died February 1, 2018. John was born in Enid, OK to his parents John B. Landes, Sr. and Josephine Idelle Wolleson. John attended Billings schools and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in business; he was also a proud member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After he graduated from college, John served as an infantryman in the United States Army, followed by the Army Reserves. On May 10, 1957, he married Donna June Smith of El Reno, OK. He was a farmer, auctioneer, Mason, served on the Garber School Board, performed with The Garber Community Theater, and was very active with The First Christian Church of Garber and his church family.
John is survived by his wife Donna (Smith) Landes of the home; son Matthew John (Jeff Heget) Landes of Plymouth, MI; daughter Kristi Jo (Shane) Bridwell of Pampa, TX; grandchildren Taylor Smith, Hunter Smith, Frankie Bridwell, and Tucker Bridwell; sister Jodelle (Jack) Stout of Stillwater, OK; brother-in-law Gary Smith of The Villages, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents John and Josephine Landes, and brother Bobby Landes.
Memorial contributions may be made to The First Christian Church, Garber, OK.
Services will under the care of Dugger Funeral home and will be held at The First Christian Church in Garber, Oklahoma with interment to follow at the Billings Union Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
