John Eldon Bristol, 72, of Enid, Oklahoma was the son of John Henry and Leola Finkbiener Bristol. He was born September 5, 1935 at Leigh, Nebraska and died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. Eldon lived in the Sumner community as a child and was a 1954 graduate of Sumner High School. He later lived at Perry where he was involved in a custom combining operation before becoming an employee of Charles Machine Works. He worked as a Ditch Witch salesman in Illinois. Eldon later returned to Perry where made his home before moving to Enid several years ago. He worked at the Depot Senior Center in Enid before becoming ill with pneumonia. Eldon was a member of the Central Christian Church. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Perry. Rev. Lonnie Rutherford will officiate, assisted by Pastor Albert Quick. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to R.S.V.P. Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Enid in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Eldon is survived by one daughter, Shari McBride, and her husband, Shawn, of Sherman, Illinois and their children, Jonathan and Anna; one son, Brian Bristol, and his wife, Rhonda, of Perry, Oklahoma and their children, Leslie, Bryan and Glenn; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrna Hall, and her husband, Dean, of Enid, Oklahoma; and one brother, Keith Bristol, and his wife, Linda, of Wisconsin.
