Joan G. Kroll, 78, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of O.W. and Ruby Hayes Sharkey. She was born December 29, 1928 in Nash, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On February 5, 1950, she and Johnie Kroll were married in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a 1969 graduate of Oklahoma AM and worked as a dietitian at Perry Memorial Hospital. Joan enjoyed cake decorating and traveling to various locations to compete in cake decorating contests. The Tulsa Sugar Art Show was named in her honor. She also was a seamstress and enjoyed needle work and ceramics. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the International Cake Exploration Society. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Committal services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Memorial Park Cemetery at Enid, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to her husband, Johnie, Joan is survived by one son, Johnie Keith Kroll, of Coweta, Oklahoma; one daughter, Arline Wagner, and her husband, Marvin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her twin brother, Jean Sharkey, of Weskan, Kansas; and two sisters, Barbara Kirby, and her husband, Jim, of Perkins, Oklahoma; and Billie Rickard, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
