Jimmie Nicewander

July 18, 1927 — July 7, 2014

Jimmie Lou Morgan Nicewander was born on July 18, 1927 to Viola Elizabeth Wilson Morgan and Onis Berry Morgan. After a lengthy illness, she went to be with her Lord on July 7, 2014, at the age of 86 years 11 months 20 days.

She grew up in Wister, Oklahoma where she attended Wister schools. She was an avid basketball player at Wister High School. Upon graduation from high school, she furthered her education by learning the telegraph. She was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a telegraph operator and worked in Guthrie, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before being transferred to Perry, Oklahoma.

There, she met and married the love of her life, Lee Loyd Nicewander on October 21, 1947. They had five children. She loved being a wife and mother. She was the greatest of homemakers. Jimmie loved to cook bake for her family and family gatherings. She enjoyed birdwatching and reading. She was a devout Christian and read the bible daily. Mother was a great example to us as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a Christian woman.

She worked outside the home as well. She was employed at Tamac Pottery in Perry for several years then was school librarian at Perry Elementary School.

Upon her husbands retirement from the Santa Fe Railroad, they moved to Pawnee, Oklahoma for several years where they were involved in ranching and then returned to Wister, Oklahoma for their remaining years to care for her parents.
