Jerry Mason, 95, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of James D. and Amanda Divine Reaves. She was born on June 19, 1916 on a farm between Morrison and Glencoe, Oklahoma and died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Perry Memorial Hospital. She attended Morrison Schools all twelve years, graduating in 1934 as class president and valedictorian. Jerry was selected as an AllState basketball player. She was the first female pilot in Noble County taking her first pilots lesson in June 1947. After graduating from Morrison High School her dad brought her to Perry and found her a job with Eddie Parker as a waitress at the Kumback Cafeacute. It was while working at Kumback that she met and four years later married Glen O. Mason on October 27, 1939 in Perry, Oklahoma at the Christian Church parsonage. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2002. She later worked at the Elite Hotel for three years. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary she was an avid wrestling fan who dedicated her life to spending time with her family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Pastor Albert Quick will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Perry Wrestling Scholarship Fund in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Jerry is survived by one son, Dave Mason and his wife, Paula, of Perry, Oklahoma one daughter, Glynna Deaner of Ft Lauderdale, Florida one grandson, 1st Lieutenant David W. Mason II of Temple, Texas one granddaughter, Jennifer Mason of Aurora, Colorado two greatgrandchildren, Cameron George of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Dakota Bloodworth of Newport News, Virginia one brotherinlaw, Howard Pershall of Little Rock Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews including Dick Reaves of Perry, Oklahoma.
