Jerry Edgar

On August 10, 2006 our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, PapPa and great-grandfather, Jerry Dee Edgar, passed from this life to eternal life with his Heavenly Father and Savior. He was 76. Jerry was the son of William Henry and Etta Belle Ohls Edgar. He was born September 9, 1929 at Hayward, Oklahoma. He and Mary Lou Gowdy were married on August 12, 1952 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1995. Jerry and Daphna Shipley were married on September 6, 1997 and they made their home in the Perry community. He was in the oil and gas industry and owned and operated J.D. Edgar Pipe Inspection in Oklahoma City before retiring in 1992. He had resided in the Elk City, Oklahoma, Casper, Wyoming, Billings, Montana, Pampa, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma communities before returning to Perry. He loved sports. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perry, the Pampa Optimist Club and the Western Sportsman Club. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Buddy Hunt will officiate. Committal services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Services will be under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. A family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2006 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Daphna Edgar; one son, Michael Edgar and his wife, Paulette, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Pamela Northcutt, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Matt Edgar and his wife, Casie, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Angela Kreaps and her husband, Michael, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Leslie Northcutt, Morgan Northcutt and Ashley Northcutt, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Kreaps and Katelyn Kreaps, both of Edmond, Oklahoma; three step-daughters, Vicki Davis and her husband, Monty, of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Lori Beier and her husband, Mike, and Lisa Frank and her husband, K.T., all of Perry, Oklahoma; eight step-grandchildren, Derek Dronberger, Matthew Dronberger, Jessy Davis and Chance Best, all of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Morgan Beier, Garrett Beier, Paige Frank and Ragen Frank, all of Perry, Oklahoma; one brother, Earl Edgar, of Perry, Oklahoma; two sisters, Henrietta Becker, of Perry, Oklahoma and Ruby Spier, of Thomaston, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Lou Edgar; three brothers, Kenneth Edgar, William Paul Edgar and Harry Sanford Edgar, who died in infancy; and three sisters, Betty Knox, Rosa Lee Nelson and Burnice Stevison.
