Jean Marie (Culbertson) Golliver was born December 20, 1918 in Covington, Oklahoma to James Garfield and Alice (DeNeef) Culbertson. She departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2015 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years.
Jean graduated from Hayward High School and continued her education at Enid Business College. She worked for Chenoweth and Green in Enid until she married and moved to the farm. On February 9, 1941 in Hayward, Oklahoma, Jean Culbertson and the late Leland Golliver were united in marriage and to this union three children were born, John, Marylee, and Linda. Jean and Leland made Enid their home since 1985 when they moved there from Perry. Jean was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church, where she belonged to the CWF at Perry and Davis Park. She was also a member of the Sunnyview Extension Club, served as a Noble County 4-H leader and was part of the Hayward High School Alumni. While in the assisted living center, Jean participated in the Red Hat Society, The Garden Club, and Bible Studies. She loved taking care of her vegetable garden, canning and freezing everything she grew. She also loved tending to her flowers and doing crafts.
Jean is survived by two children, John Golliver and his wife, Pat of Agra, Oklahoma and Marylee Imgarten and her husband, Ted of Enid, Oklahoma; one brother, Jim Culbertson and his wife, Hazel of McHenry, Illinois; one sister, Lois McDonough of Owasso, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Bill Golliver and his wife, Sue, Tina Bales and her husband, Brian, Mandy Imgarten, Steven Imgarten, Jonathan Golliver and his wife, Brianne, and Elizabeth Golliver; four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leland; one daughter, Linda Marie Golliver; one sister, Faye Golliver; and one brother, Edger Culbertson.
Funeral Services will be 10am, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home 1010 N. 7th, Perry, OK 73077.
