James Parks

James (Jim) Parks was born May 15, 1936 in Montague County, Nocona, Texas to Marion Wayne (Pappy) and Willie Mae (Sappington) Parks. He departed this life on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas at the age of 78 years.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1961. He made his home in Fort Worth, Texas, for the past 8 years, moving there from Nashville, Tennessee. He also lived in the Drummond/Enid, Oklahoma area before moving to Nashville. Jim was the owner and president of Oklahoma Tank Truck Company Inc. Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Enid, Oklahoma.

Jim is survived by two sons, Gene Parks of Fort Worth, Texas and Jim Parks of Taloga, Oklahoma; one daughter, Brenda Melton of Ringwood, Oklahoma; two stepsons, Darryl Stanley of Drummond, Oklahoma and David Stanley of Enid, Oklahoma; one sister, Judy Bower of Lewisville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Jean Chapman Parks; his second wife, Sonja Jo Montgomery Parks; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm, Friday, January 26, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
