James Lewis Kuehne, 81, formerly of Orlando has gone to heaven. He was born to Alvin and Francis Kuehne on November 27, 1940, in Deer Creek, OK. He attended Orlando schools where he was a member of FFA and played basketball with a state champion team. Graduated Orlando High School in 1960. He went on to attend OSU in Stillwater where he attained an Associate’s degree in 1964. He worked as a contractor in the construction industry. He enjoyed rodeoing when he was younger, participating in both bull doggin’ and bareback riding. His hobbies included camping and boating at the lake in California and working on vintage cars. He was a master mechanic for the Italian manufactured Pantera. He was a member of a local Pantera club and enjoyed driving all over the United States in his beautiful cars. His favorite hobby was spending time with his family. The grandkids were the light of his life.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife Anita of the home, daughter BeaAnn Kangas-Hunter of Mead, OK, son Ben William and his wife Alycia of Fairview, TX, grandson Mitchell Kangas of Yukon, OK, granddaughters: Amy Matthesen and her husband Lane of Edmond, OK, Mary Daharsh and her husband Drew of Wichita, KS, Athena Chandler and her husband Ross of CA, and Addy Osburn and her husband Kevin of Anna, TX, grandson Ashton Kuehne and his wife Brooke of Plano, TX, great grandchildren: Adalyn Matthesen, Sophia Chandler, and Leo Chandler, sister JoAnn Singley and her husband Ronnie of Sapulpa, OK, sister-in-law Louise Kuehne, brother Bobby Thedford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
James was reunited in heaven with his parents Alvin and Francis Kuehne, grandson Jacob James Kangas, brother Harold Kuehne, brother Bob Kuehne and his wife Lou, and sister-in-law Pam Thedford, son-in-law Mike Kangas and son-in-law James Hunter.
Friends are welcome to stop by Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry on Wednesday (10/19) and Thursday (10/20) from 9 am until 4 pm to sign the book and pay their respects. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday (10/21) at Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Minister Sam Jerome will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lawnview Cemetery of Orlando, OK. Donations in his name may be made payable to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
