James G. Endicott, 94, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of William Nelson and Hazel Tula Batten Endicott. He was born September 20, 1918 in Pawnee County, Oklahoma and died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Except for Jims military career, he was a resident of Noble County since 1936. Jim married his girl Maxine Schwartz on March 1, 1942 at the home of Maxines parents northwest of Perry in the Whipple community. This year they would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. After 24 years of military service, Jim retired from the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant Major. During his military career he was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Beaumont, Texas. He also did tours of duty in Germany, Brazil, Korea, Thailand and Okinawa. His service spanned three wars, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was extremely proud of his honorable service for his country. After his retirement from the military, Jim and Maxine lived on the family farm where they were married for thirty five years. Jim went to work for Charles Machine Works in 1968 and retired in 1980. Jim was a talented mechanic and had a love of old cars. He was the proud owner of a 1949 Plymouth which he completely restored. He also owned a 1927 Model T and a 1929 Model A. He loved to watch them being driven in the Cherokee Strip Parade each year. The Model T was especially dear to his heart. When he was a boy, his family traveled from Oklahoma to Pueblo, Colorado in a brand new 1927 Model T. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He delighted in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was truly the patriarch of the extended family. Jim was a member of the Lucien United Methodist Church, National Rifle Association and the VFW. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Lucien United Methodist Church in Lucien, Oklahoma. Rev. Ruth Atterberry will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Jim is survived by his wife, Maxine of the home one son, Tim Endicott and his wife, Joan two daughters, Karen Bigbee of Perry, Oklahoma, Pam Lightfoot and her husband, Jim of Perry, Oklahoma one soninlaw, Ron Crupper of Nowata, Oklahoma ten grandchildren, Rob Bigbee and his wife, Cheryl of Norman, Oklahoma, Linda Bigbee and her husband, Brooks Brandal of Jacksonville, Florida, Laura Fott and her husband, Galen of Whites Creek, Tennessee, Kevin Crupper and his wife, Keisha of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Keith Crupper of Cleveland, Ohio, James Endicott of Brooklyn, New York, Stephen Lightfoot and his wife, Sasha of Newport, Rhode Island, Philip Lightfoot and his wife, Lesley of Rockville, Maryland twelve greatgrandchildren and one more on the way. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Sharen Crupper parents, William and Hazel four brothers and three sisters.
