Irene Price

Irene Price, 91, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Franklin and Gertrude Ogden Koch. She was born on December 28, 1918 in Potter Community and died February 17, 2010 at the Perry Memorial Hospital. She and William Carl Price were married on December 5, 1936 in Perry, Oklahoma and spent much of their married lives in Tonkawa and Perry. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2005. Irene will always be known best for her contributions as a mother and grandmother both to her own children and grandchildren and their friends but also to a host of nephews and nieces, and children in the neighborhood. Her love and guidance helped many children grow to be competent, confident, caring and productive adults. In addition, she worked at a variety of enterprises around Perry including the Perry Cookie Factory, Clarices dress shop, Brown Floral, J.C. Penneys and the Noble County Election Board. She also worked at the Thrift Shop sponsored by the Noble County Association for Retarded Children for twenty nine and a half years. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Irene is survived by three children, Phyllis Postelwait and her husband, Dick, of Perry, Oklahoma Jay Price and his wife, Sarah, of Plano, Texas and Harold Price and his wife, Doris, of Miami, Oklahoma five grandchildren and their spouses, Bryan and Kay Postelwait, of Perry, Oklahoma, Darren and Sue Postelwait, of Abilene, Texas, Joshua and Sarah Price, of Annapolis, Maryland, Ruthanne and Melanie ChamberlandPrice, of Toronto, Canada and Cate and Brian Adams, of Wichita, Kansas seven great grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Price, one granddaughter, Felicia Ann Postelwait, her parents, Franklin and Gertrude Koch, three brothers, Glenn Koch, Elmer Koch and Ivan Koch, two sisters, Gladys Simpson and Mildred Feather.
