Herbert Tup Brand, 89, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Carl Jacob and Russia Kasl Brand. He was born on November 17, 1920 in Perry, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry. On April 20, 1942, Tup married Ester Mae Broyles in Perry, Oklahoma at the First United Methodist Church. Tup served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II. He worked for Roseboom Construction as a mechanic, H.A. Gilmore MM Tractor Dealership and Farmers Exchange, which later became Farmers CoOp, for over seventeen years. He and his son, Herb, managed 89ers Truck Stop for over nine years. In 2002, Tup retired as the lake caretaker for the City of Perry after twentythree years. Tup was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Buddy Hunt will officiate, assisted by Brother Aaron Summers. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at BrownDugger Funeral Home. Tup is survived by his wife, Ester Brand two sons, Herb Brand and his wife, Sherry, of Perry, Oklahoma and Dennis Brand and his wife, Carla, of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma two daughters, Donna Rieman and her husband, John, of Morrison, Oklahoma and Diana Pagel and her husband, Wayne, of Perry, Oklahoma nine grandchildren, Rodney Brand and his fianceacute, Barbara Jean, of Norman, Oklahoma, Heather Wilson and her husband, Wayne, of Perry, Oklahoma, Wade Brand and his wife, Amy, of Parker, Colorado, Chad Rieman and his wife, Trisha, of Cushing, Oklahoma, Russell Brand and his wife, Angela, of Perry, Oklahoma, Dennette Summerlin and her husband, J.T., of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mandy Langford and her husband, Tim, of McAlester, Oklahoma, Todd Brand of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Shawn Pagel of Collinsville, Oklahoma fourteen greatgrandchildren, Ashley Brand and Audrey Brand, both of Norman, Oklahoma, Mariah Wilson, Nolan Wilson and Gabby Wilson, all of Perry, Oklahoma, Lauren Brand and Avery Brand, both of Parker, Colorado, Mason Rieman and Rhett Rieman, both of Cushing, Oklahoma, Brenna Brand and Adam Brand, both of Perry, Oklahoma, Tanner Bare of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Gracie Langford and Cambree Langford, both of McAlester, Oklahoma and one sister, Doris Burrage of Edmond, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Pagel, his parents, Carl and Russia Brand and one sister, Lola Emery.
