Henry Martin Steiner, 85, formerly of Orlando, OK has gone to heaven. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday 9/15/2023 in Oklahoma City. He was born on November 22, 1937 in Perry, OK to Leonard and Lena (McNeal) Steiner.
He attended Orlando schools graduating in 1955. He went on to earn three Bachelor degrees. He attended the Phillips University in Enid OK where he earned a Bachelor of science and a Bachelor of arts in geology. He also earned a degree in performing arts from the American Academy of Screen in New York. He worked in the oil and gas industry as a geologist until his retirement. He was a member of Screen Actors Guild, the Actor’s Equity Union, the Elks Club, as well as the National Guard. He was a Mason and a Shriner and gave much of his time to helping others in need.
His family called him Sparky but his friends knew him as Hank. He was a sweet man who loved his family, a devoted husband and father. He married the love of his life, Joy Dittelmier and they shared 67 years of happiness before he passed. From this union came their son, Jim. They enjoyed traveling and dancing. Henry enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching movies with his bride, and listening to Elvis.
Henry was reunited in heaven with his parents.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss wife Joy of the home, son Jim Steiner and his wife Christi of Edmond, grandson Emory Steiner and his wife Jessica of Texas, grandson Austin Steiner of Edmond, great grandson Brody Steiner and great grandson Cameron Steiner.
Friends are welcome to stop by Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry on Tuesday 9/19 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. to sign his book and pay their respects. Henry’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the chapel in Brown Dugger Funeral Home. Minister Joshua Bell will officiate. Casket bearers for the service will include: James Flasch, Tommy Gleason, David Dittlemier, Matt Dittlemier, Emory Steiner, and Austin Steiner. Honorary Bearers include Jerry Roberts, Jeff Flasch, Greg Flasch, and Steve Roberts.
Burial will follow at the Lawnview Cemetery of Orlando. Please send flowers to the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made payable to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children 2900 Rocky Pint Dr, Tampa, FL 33607.
