Harold Edward Hodge, 96, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Edward Stanton and Ollie Wood Hodge. He was born on December 9, 1914 in Guymon, Oklahoma and died Friday, October 21, 2011 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Perry, Oklahoma. On August 28, 1936 Harold married his best friend and the love of his life Venita Yockey. They shared 75 happy years of marriage together on their farm south of Perry. Harold worked as a farmer and stockman before starting his carpentry business in 1951. Harold always like a good horse, a good dog, a good fiddle and a good guitar. Most of all Harold loved his family he was a kind and loving husband and father. The best Papaw and granddad a child could ask for. A wonderful friend and neighbor. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at BrownDugger Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bobby Lee will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 at BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charities of your choice in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Harold is survived by his wife Venita of the home two sons, Eddie Dalton Hodge and his wife Judy, Harold Oliver Hodge and his wife Mildred, all of Perry, Oklahoma two daughters, Donna Jean Hodge, Shirley Ann Hodge Dunham and her husband Richard all of Perry, Oklahoma six grandchildren, Brett Hodge and his wife, Lisa, Randy Hodge and his wife, Deidre, Dawn Rae Ware and her husband, Bill, Justin Hodge and his wife, Jana, Holly Olivia Dyess and her husband, Jeff and Leanna Meliotes and her husband, Steven fifteen great grandchildren seven great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theda Rae Hodge Brown his sister Goldie Studebaker and both his parents two brotherinlaws, Clem Yockey and L.V.
