Harold Neil Carter, 74, of Billings, Oklahoma was the son of Horace N. and Emilie M. Totusek Carter. He was born July 25, 1933 at Salt Fork, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, May14, 2008 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Harold graduated from Billings High School and served his country with the Oklahoma National Guard's 45th Division. On May 23, 1953, he and Irlyn R. Landes were married at Billings, Oklahoma. He and Irlyn would have been married 55 years on May 23, 2008. A resident of Noble County for 65 years, Harold moved to the Billings community from Salt Fork. He was engaged in farming and operated a propane business. Harold was the first in Noble County to raise Angora goats. He attended the Billings Christian Church and was a member of the Billings Lions Club. He served on the Noble County Excise Board from May 25. 1982 to January 19, 1994. He enjoyed making jewelry and belt buckles, shooting guns and visiting and drinking coffee with his friends. An avid horseman, Harold rode his horse in the Centennial Celebration in Billings. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Christian Church in Billings. Kent Reubell will officiate. Interment will be in the Billings Union Cemetery. Services are under direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Billings, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Billings Christian Church or the Billings Summer Youth Program in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Billings, Oklahoma 74630. Harold is survived by his wife, Irlyn; one son, Tracy Carter, and his wife, Michelle, of Billings, Oklahoma; one brother, Jack Carter, and his wife, Susan, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Stacy Lynn Carter, of Enid, Oklahoma, Brock Neil Carter-Wilson, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Candace Anaeacute; Ragsdale, of Enid, Oklahoma and Hayden Nathaniel Carter, of Billings, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Emilie Carter; one son, Travis Carter, who died on November 2, 1992; and one brother, Gene Carter.
