H.A. Cotton Linn, 85, of Red Rock, Oklahoma joined his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 18, 2008. Cotton was born on January 15, 1923 to Harry Aaron and Maybelle Johnson Linn in Verden, Oklahoma. He graduated from Verden High School and attended Oklahoma A M College. He also enlisted in the armed forces although he was never called to active duty. Cotton married Kathrine Pfeiffer of Orlando, Oklahoma on January 30, 1944. Shortly after they were married they moved to Ada, Oklahoma and worked for W.E. Harvey Hereford Ranch. After sale of the hereford ranch, the family moved to Red Rock, Oklahoma where they still reside. Cotton was actively involved in the Red Rock community serving in numerous civic organizations, on various boards and devoting many hours supporting youth activities in Noble County. Cotton was a member and an elder of the Red Rock Christian Church until it disbanded then attending Marland Methodist Christian Church. He was also president of the Noble County Fair Board for many years, where he helped county 4-H and FFA members sow the seeds of their success. Cotton was a 50 year member of the Red Rock Masonic Lodge 308, Scottish Rites and Red Rock Eastern Star. He was a longtime secretary for the Masonic Lodge and held other various offices. He was also appointed to other Grand office for the state of Oklahoma. Cotton received the KCCH Degree or 32 frac12; Degree in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He held the Easter Star Worthy Patron office several times during his membership. He and Kathrine were charter of the Red Rock Eastern Star where they dedicated much of their life to continue the success of the chapter. Cotton was a hard worker all of his life in all that he did. Cotton and Katie were chosen Oklahoma Farm Family of the Year an award that was presented at the 1960 State Fair of Oklahoma. Family was a very important part of his life. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and develop. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathrine of the home; son John Aaron Linn and wife Burdettya of Red Rock; daughter Patty Jo Luter and husband Dannie of Morrison. Grandchildren JoDawn Parrish and husband Mike of Kremlin; D.J. Linn and wife Mindy of Red Rock; Ryan Luter and wife Marcy of Morrison and Dusty Luter of Edmond. Great Grandchildren are Taylor and Cash Parrish of Kremlin, Kelby and Payten Linn of Red Rock. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Dumas of Osage Beach, Missouri, one sister in law, Pat Linn of Verden, Oklahoma, one brother in law Clyde Cheatham of Crescent, Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives. Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother who died at birth, brothers Raymond and Ira Linn and sister Betty Cheatham. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry.
