Gloria Powell, 69, of Garber, Oklahoma was the daughter of Leon and Vada Jane Wade Stanfill. She was born May 10, 1944 in Gainesville, Texas but was raised by H.H. Tobe Pruitt and his wife Vada. Gloria went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Garber High School in 1962. Gloria lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Texas, before returning to Garber, Oklahoma in 1984. Gloria enjoyed her job she went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, District 5 as a case manager in 1988 and retired in 2010 after twentytwo years of service. She married her sweetheart, Keith E. Powell on July 15, 1989 in Garber, Oklahoma. Gloria took great pride in Garber and was the Mayor of Garber for one year. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed gardening when her health would allowed her to work in her flower beds. She enjoyed going to and watching her grandchildrens sporting events and just loved having her family around. Gloria was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Garber, Oklahoma. Pastor Linda Pope will officiate. Interment will be in Garber Cemetery in Garber, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to charity of the donors choice in care of Dugger Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738. Gloria is survived by her husband, Keith of the home one son, Bradley Sanderson of Edmond, Oklahoma one daughter, Stacy Grubbs of Portales, New Mexico two brothers, Larry Pruitt and Randy Pruitt both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma two sisters, Glenda Sutton of Edmond, Oklahoma and Melinda Cordero of Wells Point, Texas and seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, H.H. Tobe Pruitt and Vada Pruitt and one granddaughter.
