Gloria Ann (Frederick) Cook was born February 8, 1935 to Clarence William and Lula Mae (Webb) Frederick on the homestead of her Grandfather Frederick in Orlando, OK, with Dr. Evans doing the delivery.
Gloria married Robert (Bob) Edwin Cook on March 27, 1954. To this union they had 4 children: Judy Gayle in 1957, Edwin Clarence in 1959, Patricia Ann 1965, and Robert Todd in 1968. They resided on the farm north of Orlando where her grandfather homesteaded.
Gloria attended school for 12 years at Orlando Oklahoma and graduated in 1952. She then attended Oklahoma A&M College.
She worked at Conoco, Ponca City, OK (1954-1957); Airline, Tulsa, OK; Chance Vought Aircraft, Grand Prairie, TX; Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK; Permanent Cookware, Perry, OK (1975-1980); Oklahoma State Agricultural Economics Department (1980-2005). She retired in 2005 but went back to work at OSU in 2007 and retired again in 2013 after 30 years of service with Oklahoma State University.
Gloria was very active in the Orlando Methodist Church which her grandparents helped start and build. She helped research the history of the church and kept records.
Gloria had a green thumb and loved to plant and tend to flowers and shrubs in her yard. She worked hard on the history of her family and kept records and made genealogy books of her family history.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lula Mae Frederick, a stillborn sister Judy Gayle Frederick, her husband Robert Cook, and a grandson Joseph Miller.
She is survived by daughter Judy (Cook) and husband Dale Miller of Nash, OK; son Edwin Cook and wife Shelia (Frey) of Orlando, OK; daughter Patty (Cook) Burrell of Texas; and son Todd Cook of somewhere, USA. 8 grandchildren: Dale Wayne Miller and wife Summer of Perry, OK; Matthew Miller and wife Erica of Tulsa, OK; Sabrina (Miller) and husband Dustin Moffatt of Burlington, OK; Chance Cook and wife Korri of Perry, OK; Dustin Cook and wife Hannah of Perry, OK; Bailey Cook of Colorado Springs, CO; Kyla (Cook) and husband Alex Simon of Illinois; and Katie (Burrell) and husband Jonathan Koenig of San Marcos, Texas. 13 great Grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at the United Methodist Church of Orlando on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2 p.m. Minister Adrian Pollard will officiate. Honorary casket bearers will include Bruce Hadden, Ray Webb, Dan Webb, Joe Webb, Brent Webb, ax Webb, Gaylen Webb, Dake Miller, Matthew Miller, Chance Cook, Dustin Cook, Jeff Brousard and John Cook.
