Glen Hair

Glen Hair, 77, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of C.A. and Josie Oliphant Hair. He was born September 20, 1929 on a farm four and one-half miles north of Bixby, Oklahoma and died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at his home. Glen graduated from Bixby High School in 1947. He joined the United States Navy in June, 1947 and served as an Aviation Electronics Tech. During his service to his country, Glen spent several years in the Panama Canal Zone and Cuba. He went to electronics school at NATTC in Millington, Tennessee and served as a Radar Instructor at NATTC for three years. He then served on several bases on the West Coast where he was in an anti submarine squadron and made a cruise on the USS Princeton. When he retired in December, 1965, Glen was serving in a helicopter squadron. Glen met Christina Caldwell while stationed in Norman, Oklahoma and they were married July 4, 1953 at Jenks, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and a life member of the N.R.A. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Church of the Nazarene in Perry. Pastor Steve Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to his wife, Christina, survivors are one daughter, Tammy Hughes, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two sons, Terry Hair, of Perry, Oklahoma, and Tully Hair, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Dale Hair, of Raymond, California; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
