George Allen Schwandt, 85, a longtime resident of Mulhall, Oklahoma was the son of Fred and Selma Grinniger Schwandt. He was born March 15, 1928 at Benedictine Hospital in Guthrie, Oklahoma and died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. He was baptized as an infant in the Orlando United Methodist Church formerly known as the Evangelical United Brethren Church. George is a 1946 graduate from Mulhall High School. George met his wife and best friend of sixtysix years, Evelyn E. Ring, at the Orlando United Methodist Church. They were united in marriage on June 24, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served his country honorably. George returned to his farm to do what he loved best raising cattle and wheat. He was employed at J. C. Penneys and also in the oilfield during the winter months. He loved music especially gospel quartet and sang in one. George loved OU Football but above all he loved his family. George was an active member of the Orlando United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. Pastor Adrian Pollard will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery in Orlando, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. George is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home daughter, Barbara Bourne of Norman, Oklahoma two grandsons, Corbin Bourne and Dylan Bourne both of Dallas, Texas three sisterinlaws, Anita Schwandt of Stillwater, Oklahoma, JoAnn McLaughlin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Marilyn Ring of Perry, Oklahoma and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Selma Schwandt stepmother Lottie Schwandt brother, Lawrence Schwandt fatherinlaw, Alex Ring motherinlaw, Gwen Jones stepmotherinlaw, Arvella Ring.
