Gene Davidson

Gene Paul Davidson, 80, of Perry, Oklahoma, was born May 24, 1933 in Perry, Oklahoma to Paul and Lizzie Ewy Davidson. He passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 in Perry, Oklahoma. Gene and Lu Ella Grim Davidson were married on September 15, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma. They were married for 45 years until Lu Ellas passing on August 6, 1999. Gene had a love for the great outdoors, which led to his passion for oil and gas production and exploration. He enjoyed many adventurous past times including big game hunting elk, snow skiing in Colorado and RV traveling. He was known for his love of music which included his favorites, Bob Wills and Hank Thompson. Gene also enjoyed dancing. He was a member of the Perry Elks Lodge and was very proud of being a founding member of the local Elks Lodge 417. Gene served as Noble County Sheriff from the fall of 1977 until 1980. He was a well known and loved citizen of the community. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. Craig Gibson will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Gene is survived by son, Gerald Davidson and his wife, Melanie of Perry, Oklahoma daughters, Janet Wilhelm and her husband, Sid of Perry, Oklahoma, and Judy Yetter of Edmond, Oklahoma brother, Tom Musick and his wife, Ruby of Graham, Texas two grandsons, Russell Davidson Caldwell of Perry, Oklahoma and William Heath Yetter of Edmond, Oklahoma three granddaughters, Haleigh Ann Davidson Collins and her husband, Scott, and Natalie Kaye Davidson, both of Norman, Oklahoma, and Christie Jean Yetter of Edmond, Oklahoma and special friend and companion, Norma Leigh, of Morrison, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife Lu Ella parents, Paul and Lizzie two brothers, Bob Musick and Raymond Davidson.
