Gene Cerny, 76, of Enid, Oklahoma, was the son of Lauttie Cerny and Ila Marie Dague Bingham and husband Hugh. He was born on September 12, 1933 in Enid, Oklahoma and died Friday, April 23, 2010 at his home in Enid. He graduated from Garber High School and attended college at Northern Oklahoma College, Central State University and graduated from Phillips University. He earned a Masters degree in Math and Science from North Eastern Oklahoma State. Gene served his country in the United States Army from 19541956 serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, Oklahoma Public Employees Association, Oklahoma Educators Association and National Educators Association. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, boating and camping. His hobbies also included reading and woodworking. Viewing hours will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Dugger Funeral Home in Garber. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber. Pastor Joseph Myers will be officiating. Interment will be in the Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738. He is survived by his wife, Emma Cerny of Enid, Oklahoma son, Daniel Cerny and his wife, Stacey, of Enid, Oklahoma daughter, Cindy McCamey and her husband, Mark, of Lenexa, Kansas eleven grandchildren, Shae and Justin Colton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Chris and Chelsea Phillips of Kansas City, Kansas, Mark McCamey of Los Angeles, California, Ariel Dow of Enid, Oklahoma, Amanda Cerny of Yukon, Oklahoma, Shon Cerny of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Reylina Dickens of Pensacola, Florida, Katey Cerny of Yukon, Oklahoma and Pauline Cerny of Enid, Oklahoma three great grandchildren, McCamey Colton of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Tyler and Jayce Phillips of Kansas City, Kansas father, Hugh Bingham of Enid, Oklahoma and sister, Mary Ann Green and her husband, Bill, of Edmond, Oklahoma. Gene was preceded in death by his son, David Cerny father, Lauttie Cerny mother, Ila Bingham brother, Sam Cerny and grandson, Jevon Dickens.
