Gary Voise

d. March 12, 2025

Gary Allen Voise, a lifelong Oklahoman and devoted family man passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on August 14, 1947, in Stillwater, Gary's roots run deep in the Oklahoma soil. He spent his formative years on a farm in Sumner, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a love for the land. He was a proud member of Zion Lutheran Church, a cornerstone of his community.

In 1964 while attending Sumner, Gary was involved in a historical basketball game against Coyle. Coyle's strategy of holding the ball resulted in a low-scoring affair, with Gary Voise scoring the only points of the game in the third quarter. His basket secured a 2-0 win for Sumner, forever marking him as the hero of this unusual sporting event.

After his years at Sumner, Gary attended Perry High School where he graduated in 1965. From there, he continued his education at Oklahoma State University, where he became a passionate and lifelong supporter of the Cowboys. His dedication was so profound that he even acquired a cherished piece of history: a seat from the stands of Gallagher-Iba basketball arena during its renovation in the 1990s.

His professional life was marked by dedication and success. He began his career at Molder Odom Janitorial Supply before spending the majority of his working years as a Sales Representative for 3M’s photo products. Gary cultivated many lasting friendships throughout his career.

Gary enjoyed many happy hours with his friends, often centered around a playful "gator" theme, creating memories that would last a lifetime. In his later years, he found a comfortable and welcoming home at Town Village Tulsa's independent living.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ernest "Ernie" and Dorothy Voise. He leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters, Valerie (and her husband, Kevin) of Plano, Texas, and Kathy (and her husband, Leon) Krieg of Tulsa.

He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, Amy and Aaron Harman, Ally and Ben McGinnis, Jarrett Chrz, and Blake and Ashley Danner, as well as his grandnieces, Juliet McGinnis and Avery Harman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
