Gareth William (Bill) Austin, 66 of Perry died Monday morning, May 29, 2017, at the Perry Memorial Hospital. Bill was born on June 10, 1950, to Charles and Mary Jayne (Lintz) Austin in Dallas, Texas. He married the love of his life, Debra Kay Umlauft, in 2000 right after graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Central Oklahoma. He worked as an accountant for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Bill was a passionate Sooner and Dallas Cowboy fan. He and his brother Carl shared a love for sports, especially baseball. One sports trip together they saw their amateur team Pepsi who was the runner up in the 1977 World Series for Amateur Baseball in Battle Creek, Michigan. Bill was a fan of any sport and loved watching and following his teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jayne Austin, sister, Anita Lee Austin and his in-laws, Harold and Beverly Umlauft and his sister-in-law Beverly Jean Papp.
Surviving is his loving wife, Debra of Perry, Oklahoma, brother, Carl Austin, and spouse, Pepper of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Nephews, David Austin and spouse, Sam of Pennsylvania, Chance Austin of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Niece, Presley Austin of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Nephew David Papp of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Brother-in-law, Stanton Umlauft of California.
Services for Mr. Austin will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma.
