Frances Skidmore, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma was the daughter of Amos Elwood and Mary Jewel Bledsoe Peavler. She was born April 3, 1916 at Minco, Oklahoma and died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Claremore Regional Hospital at Claremore, Oklahoma. Frances was a graduate of Garber High School. She and Robert Clifton Skidmore were married on November 27, 1940 in the Garfield County Courthouse in Enid, Oklahoma. She moved around the United States with her husband and children and had lived in the Tulsa community since 1967, moving there from Buena Park, California. A wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Frances took care of her family and only worked outside the home after raising her children. Prior to retirement, Frances was employed 28 years in the retail sale of ladies clothing at Street's Department Store. She was a sketch artist and her hobbies were doll collecting, handwork, embroidery, crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Stanleys Funeral Service Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Roy C. Blackmore, Minister will officiate. Committal services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Garber Cemetery at Garber, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber, Oklahoma. Frances is survived by one son, James Clifton Skidmore and his wife, Linda, of Crown Point, Indiana; three daughters, Roberta Jane Jackson and her husband, Gary, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Barbara Jean Sundin and her husband, Buzz, of Claremore, Oklahoma and Mary Ann Dannette Patrick and her husband, David, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Christopher Lee Jackson and his wife, Holley, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Farrah Jane Ennis and her husband, Damon, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marlania Lynn Krouse and her husband, Bryan, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Justin Jano and his wife, Janey, of Claremore, Oklahoma, David Jason Patrick and his wife, Lisa, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Crista Caye Wolfe and her husband, Jerry, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jennifer Skidmore, of Tokyo, Japan, and Joshua Skidmore, of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten great-grandchildren, Amos and Emma Pilkington, of Chelsea, Oklahoma; Christian, Zachary, Allison and Avery Jackson, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, David, Kyler and Madison Patrick, of Owasso, Oklahoma and Luna Wolfe, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to her husband, Robert Clifton Skidmore, who died on March 20, 1973, Frances was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Skidmore, and one great-grandson, Logan Pilkington.
