Ferol Lewis

Ferol Lewis, 92, of Stillwater, Oklahoma was the daughter of John Lindsey and Hazel Juanita Bense Dixon. She was born July 23, 1917 at DaCosta, Texas and died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ferol was a graduate of Sumner High School at Sumner, Oklahoma. On August 30, 1936, she and Furman Slab Lewis were married at Perry, Oklahoma. Her husband preceded her in death on September 9, 1993. She was a retail clerk who was employed by JCPenney for over 23 years. Ferol was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Stillwater. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, preparing her church newsletter and spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church at 504 South Knoblock Street in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rev. Frank Kinast will officiate. The family will meet with friends at the church immediately following the funeral services. Committal services will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 in the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Stillwater or the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Ferol is survived by one son, Furman Ray Lewis of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two daughters, Glenda Darlene Edwards and Jean Heister and her husband, Bill, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Kris Fowler and her husband, Kevin, and Lisa Focht, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Jan Heister of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Mike Heister and his wife, Layla, of Brick, New Jersey, Darcy Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada and Gary Dan Lewis of Florida; three great-granddaughters, Anna Fowler and Amanda Focht, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Malak Heister of Brick, New Jersey; three great-grandsons, Will Fowler, Shannon Michael Focht and Ryan Shea Focht, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and one great-great-grandson, Braxton Focht of Stillwater, Oklahoma. In addition to her husband, Ferol was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
