Evelyn Speer, 92, of Morrison, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Benjamin and Glenn Jones Rice. She was born on April 6, 1913 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Perry Memorial Hospital. Evelyn and Chester L. Speer were married on November 6, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1992. She managed the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Oklahoma City for many years. She was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Sumner. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Sumner Baptist Church. Rev. Albert Quick will officiate. Interment will be in Sumner Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry. Memorials may be given to the Kenneth K. Coldiron Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Evelyn is survived by one son, Clyde Speer of Morrison, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Chip Yerbic of Ukiah, California, Kip Yerbic of Durango, Colorado, Mike Yerbic of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mark Yerbic of Grand Junction, Colorado and Jim Yerbic of Morrison, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Jimie Yerbic of Santa Rosa, California, Lindsey Yerbic and Gregory Yerbic, both of Grand Junction, Colorado and Landon Yerbic of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one foster granddaughter, Latasha Welch LaGrange of Noble, Oklahoma; one half brother, Daniel King and his wife, Trase, of Sebring, Florida and two loving nieces, Carol Rice of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Patty Huxley of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Speer; one infant son, Monta Bill Speer; one daughter, Patricia Jeanne Yerbic; one grandson, Patrick Yerbic; parents, Benjamin and Glenn Rice; two brothers, Clyde Rice and Bill Rice and one sister, Helen Crowther.
