Evelyn Ferol Mornhinweg, 88, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away at home and gained eternal peace on May 6, 2009. She was born on August 8, 1920, at Red Rock, Oklahoma, to Ernest and Rachel Osborne Tobias. She was a student at Red Rock area schools and graduated from Billings High School in 1936 and attended Northern Oklahoma Jr. College in Tonkawa for two years. On September 1, 1940, she married William A. Mornhinweg. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry for 61 years and a member of the Ever Endeavor Sunday School class and had been secretarytreasurer of that class for 15 years. She was baptized in a pond as a child and again in the First Baptist Church of Perry as an adult. Ferol was employed at M W grocery store, Lane Wells Oil Field Service Company and was owner of Ferols Fun House Daycare. She also taught swimming lessons during supervised play at Perry Municipal Pool. She was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Perry Memorial Hospital, Wheatheart Nutrition Center and ARC. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Buddy Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, American Heart Association or American Lung Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Ferol is survived by her children, Larry Darla Mornhinweg, of San Jose, California, Debra Knott, of Perry, Oklahoma, Denise Paul Shimanek, of Wichita, Kansas and Diane Slavin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, Darcy John Regan, of San Jose, California, Marty Lindsey Mornhinweg, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Shanon Regan Mornhinweg, of Portland, Oregon, Brad Tonia Mornhinweg, of San Jose, California, Dena Brian Phillips, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Travis Jennifer Kime, of Perry, Oklahoma, Brandon Susan Shimanek, of Wichita, Kansas, Damon Shimanek, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jason Shimanek, of Denver, Colorado and Dana Slavin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and 21 great-grandchildren, Johnny and Delaney Regan, of San Jose, California, Madison, Skyler, Molly and Bobby Cade Mornhinweg, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brennan, Casey, Dakota and Abby Mornhinweg, of Portland, Oregon, Morgan and Riley Mornhinweg, of San Jose, California, Katie and Holden Phillips, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Tanner, Joshua and Taylor Kime, of Perry, Oklahoma, Brodie Shimanek, of Wichita, Kansas, and Geija, Storey and Henry Shimanek, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rachel Tobias, husband, William A. Mornhinweg, and son, Jimmie C. Mornhinweg.
