Eva Winter

Eva Mae Prollock Winter, 84, affectionately known as GG by her greatgrandchildren, was born December 22, 1928, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Fred and Lizzie Woellhof Prollock of Orlando, Oklahoma. She passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Eva lived for almost 60 years on the old homestead west of Orlando. She attended grade school and high school at Orlando. She graduated from Orlando High School. Eva and C.D. Winter were married June 18, 1953 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. To this union, three children were born Barbara Myers, Sheryl Crumm and Dean Winter. The marriage ended in divorce in 1989, at which time Eva moved to Perry. Eva was a member of the United Methodist Women UMW of the Methodist Church. For the first 25 years she held the offices of President, Vice President or Treasurer of the UMW. When she moved to Perry, she gave up her office but continued as a member. Eva loved to garden. She loved her flowers, especially roses. She also loved to embroider. She made six quilts in addition to many other items. Eva loved cooking and canning. She worked as a cook at the Perry Nursing Home for 15 years. Eva also worked at Bestyet for 3 frac12 years and Homeland for half a year. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 3:00 p. m. at the United Methodist Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. Rev. Adrian Pollard will officiate. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Orlando, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Orlando United Methodist Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Eva is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Crumm and her husband, Doyle, of Perry, and Barbara Myers and her husband, Don of Plano, Texas son, Dean Winter and his wife, Susan of Katy, Texas three grandchildren, Marty Wayne Casteel II, Micheal Dean Casteel and his wife, Crystal of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Tyler Dean Winter of Katy, Texas and three greatgrandchildren, Kadyn Casteel, Korbyn Casteel and Kyzar Casteel, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lizzie Prollock, and one baby brother, George.
