Edna Simmering

September 9, 1930 — March 23, 2008

Edna W. Simmering, 77, of Billings, Oklahoma was the daughter of Albert A. and Annie Elizabeth Warren Harms. She was born September 9, 1930 at Cordell, Oklahoma and died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center at Enid, Oklahoma. Edna was a graduate of Garber High School. She and John A. Simmering were married on July 21, 1955 at Perry, Oklahoma. Her husband preceded her in death on March 14, 1982. She was a dietary manager at Billings Fairchild Center in Billings for more than 40 years before she retired in 2007. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Billings and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Edna delivered meals for the Wheatheart Nutrition Center. Her hobbies were baseball, fishing, hunting and gardening and she enjoyed playing bingo. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Billings. Rev. Floyd Westfall will officiate. Interment will be in the Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Billings. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Falls Creek Campaign in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Billings, Oklahoma 74630. Edna is survived by one son, Johnnie Utsler and his wife, Vickie, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter LaRonda Phillips and her husband, Jeff, of Claremore, Oklahoma; one great-granddaughter, Railey Phillips, of Claremore, Oklahoma; a special friend, Norma Holden, of Billings, Oklahoma; and several cousins and friends.
