Edna Ewy Groom past away at 1:20 p.m. on September 26, 2004, at the Perry Memorial Hospital at the age of 90 years, one month and 28 days. Edna was the thirteenth child born to John and Susie Brubaker Ewy on July 29th, on a farm southeast of Perry, Oklahoma. Edna is a member of the Mennonite Church of Moundridge, Kansas. She attended Oak Grove School southeast of Perry, Oklahoma from 1920 thru 1928. She married Glenwood Groom on July 29th, 1933 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, and lived with her husband on a farm two miles south of Perry, Oklahoma, for over fifty years. Edna had a busy life rearing seven children, being a wife and helping with the farm work and cooking. Services will be held at the First Christian Church of Perry, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28th, 2004. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. There will be a family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2004 at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Ethel Coe and her husband, Blake Coe, of Perry, Oklahoma, Barbara Swart and her husband, Robert Swart, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Norma Cinnamon and her husband, Paul Cinnamon, of El Reno, Oklahoma, Glenwood Groom Jr. and his wife, Nancy Groom, of Glencoe, Oklahoma, Susie Craft and her husband, Rick Craft, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Leonard Groom and his wife, Pat Groom, of Broomfield, Colorado, Duane Groom and his wife, Rita Groom, of Perry, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Glenwood Groom, her husband of fifty-seven years, one grandson, one great grandchild, her parents, seven sisters and five brothers. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or to a charity of your choice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
