Edgar Low

November 22, 1924 — January 28, 2008

Edgar Low, age 83, of Fairmont, Oklahoma, made the final pass on his field of life on January 28, 2008. He was born November 22, 1924, in Morrison, Oklahoma, to Bill and Mary Frank Low. He went to the Shilo School near Morrison. In 1929 the family moved to the Fairmont area. He attended school at the Lincoln Center near Billville and later graduated from Garber High School in 1944. Edgar served his country in the United States Army in World War II serving in the 3953rd Quartermaster Truck Company throughout France and Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He was awarded the good conduct medal, bronze star and the Army Occupation ribbon. He moved to Stillwater in 1947. In 1948 Edgar married Susie Humphrey and moved to Glencoe, Okla. He worked at the OSU Student Union building for seven years as a painter and decorator. They farmed at this time. They had a dairy farm and chicken farm for several years. In 1978 they moved to the Fairmont area and continued to farm. In 1984 Susie passed away. In 1986 Edgar married Dorothy Fincher. Edgar retired from farming in 2004. He was a member of the Garber Christian Church where he served as a deacon. Edgar is survived by his wife, Dorothy of twenty one years; two daughters, Connie Fincher of Enid Oklahoma and Linda Johnson and husband, David, of Garber, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Joshua Johnson of Fairmont, Oklahoma, Jenifer Johnson of El Reno, Oklahoma, Randy Fincher and Heather Fincher of Enid, Oklahoma, Trinity Fincher of Texas, Brandy Fincher and Joey Fincher of Garber, Oklahoma and one great grandchild, Alyson Roberts of Enid Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ray Fincher. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garber Christian Church with Reverends Doyle Newsome and John Tautfest officiating. Committal services will be 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services are under the Direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Garber, Oklahoma. Memorial may be made to the First Christian Church or Hospice Circle of Love in care of Dugger Funeral Home P.O. Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738.
