Ernest Earl Shryock Jr., 77, of Morrison, Oklahoma was born on July 13, 1940 in Woodward, Oklahoma to June Shyrock (Young) and Earnest Earl Shyrock Sr. He passed from this life the evening of June 9, 2018. Ernest was born and raised to be a farmer. Throughout his life, Ernest was an independent farmer and rancher. He was a very humble man and a wonderful people person.
Ernest was elected into office as the Noble County Commissioner in 1975 and held that position until 1978. He enjoyed helping others, especially when it came to his community. He also was enlisted in the Army and served his country for a year and a half.
In his earlier years he loved to spend time with his son, Larry Shryock. They would go all over the country showing sheep and cattle. It was a wonderful way to be able to have quality time with Larry. He went on to win the World Team Pinning. He was especially grateful for his good friends, such as Rusty Coker. Rusty has been like family to Ernest since they were boys. Rusty was Ernest's right hand man on the farm. They were a dream team working together.
His passion was raising cattle, farming, and watching his son show their cattle
Whenever Ernest wasn't working, he chose to spend his time visiting with friends and family and watching old western films. Ernest was a very humble man. He was a firm believer in God, his country, honor, courage, and most importantly love.
