Earl Hanes

Earl D. Hanes, 71, of Orlando, Oklahoma, was the son of R.D. and Goldeen Viola Yarborough Hanes. He was born October 5, 1936 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and went home to be with Jesus on Monday, August 4, 2008 at his home in Orlando. Earl joined the United States Air Force on March 2, 1954 at the age of 17. He enlisted for four years and spent two of those in Alaska. He served his country with the Air Force until he was honorably discharged on November 8, 1957. He married Edith Scott on April 29, 1958 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Earl was a pipeline welder for 35 years and they traveled to many different states to work. Earl moved to the Orlando area from Oklahoma City and was a 35-year resident of that community. When he retired from pipelining, he worked six years as a rural mail carrier at the Orlando, Oklahoma Post Office until retiring in 2001. He was of the Protestant faith. Earl loved to fish and hunt. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Vassar Full Gospel Worship Center at Mulhall, Oklahoma. Pastors Ralph Yost and Paul Jackson will officiate. Interment will be in the Morris Heights Cemetery at Orlando, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to the Vassar Full Gospel Worship Center in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Earl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edith, of the home; one son, Troy Dean Hanes and his wife Bridget, of Perry, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Paige his sweetie; two step-grandsons, Dakota and Kye; two sisters, Linda DeVilbiss of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Sheila Earle of Elk City, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Steven Lovelette of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Ronnie Hanes, of Agra, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, several aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly and several cousins.
