Dorothy Avis Voise, 91, of Perry, Oklahoma the daughter of George and Emma (Wyler) Yarger, was born June 19, 1926 in Fairmont, Oklahoma, she passed away on Thursday December 7, 2017 at Stillwater Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy attended school in Covington and Sumner, Oklahoma along with her husband Ernie Voise. They fell in love, got married, and built a family farm where they started their lives together. She was a full-time homemaker and an amazing mother to her children. Aside from being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife she was a fabulous chef. She could cook almost anything and would try to feed anyone that would eat. Dorothy had a knack for thank you cards. You could count on her to send out a card for every occasion. She also enjoyed sewing clothes for her children, gardening, and crafting.
She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church and served in WELCA Christian Service for countless years and Co-Chair for 12 years from 1996-2008. During this time, she oversaw organizing dinners, reaching out for volunteers, serving dinners, and assisted on altar guild. She also served for many years in supporting roles for the Sumner Future Farmers of America, and Morrison and Perry FFA and PTA's. Dorothy was involved in the Perry community with various volunteer organizations as well.
Dorothy is preceded in death in 2012, her husband of 67 years, Ernie Voise; Her parents, George and Emma; one sister, Christine Brown; and one brother, Everett Yarger.
Dorothy is survived by one son, Gary Voise of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kathy and her husband Leon Krieg of Columbia, Missouri and Valerie and her husband Kevin Danner of Plano, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Amy and Aaron Harman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Allyson and Ben McGinnis of Tulsa, Jarrett Chrz of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Blake Danner of Dallas, Texas; 2 great-grandchildren, Juliet McGinnis of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Avery Harman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Services will be held on Friday December 15, 2017 at 10:00am at the Zion Lutheran Church under the Care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Visitation will be held between the hours of 8:00am-8:00pm on Thursday December 14, 2017 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made out to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund
