Dorothy Ewy, 95, a long time resident of Perry, Oklahoma, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on February 29, 1916 at Carmen, Oklahoma to Clark Braden and Anna Elizabeth Christensen Chenoweth. She was a lifelong residence of Perry. Dorothy met and fell in love with Paul Ewy and on September 10, 1932 they were married. Together they ran a service station here in Perry. She took in ironing for 45 years. Dorothy also worked on the Perry Election Board and when she was not doing that she chaired many family reunions. Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church of Perry. Dorothy loved to travel but when she was home she enjoyed fishing and working in her garden. You could always find her playing with her grandchildren, sewing, walking or playing Pitch with her pitch buddies. She will be remembered as loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at The First Christian Church of Perry. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital or the First Christian Church and in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janet Mack and her husband Ronnie of Lucien, Oklahoma son, Jimmy Ewy and his wife Marilyn of Perry, Oklahoma one brother, Bill Chenoweth two sisters, Libby Norton and Mary Goodwin 9 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren 3 great greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul, her daughter, Peggy Divine, sisters Luella Ewy, Glayds Meier and Bobbie Horton and her brothers, Star Chenoweth, Ed Chenoweth and Click Chenoweth Online condolences may be sent to the family using the online guestbook at www.brownduggerfuneralhome.com.
