Doris Shrum

Geraldine Doris Shrum, 72, of Perry, Oklahoma, was born February 2, 1941in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Isla and Eliza Kanard Wolf. She passed away October 14, 2013 in Perry, Oklahoma. She was an Okmulgee High School graduate, class of 1959. Doris met her sweetheart and best friend during her 7th grade year and later married, Darrell Ray Shrum on August 29, 1960 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. Doris went on to become a registered nurse. Doris enjoyed fishing, sporting events, reading and traveling but most of all she enjoyed OU Football. She loved animals especially her cat and dog. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren along with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013, at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. Steve Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Doris is survived by her husband Darrell, of the home daughter, Darelyn Miner and her husband, Bill of Perry, Oklahoma an adopted daughter, Dawna Schwandt, who she loved as her own one son, Terry Shrum and his wife, Metha, of Perry, Oklahoma four grandchildren, Chasity Miner and her boyfriend, Jason Holt of Perry, Oklahoma, Vanessa Codner and her husband, Joey of Moore, Oklahoma, Jared Miner and his wife, Emily, and Colby Shrum and his wife, Kayla, all of Perry nine greatgrandchildren, Maddie Miner, Preslei Miner, Savanna Holt, Lovlei Codner, Alliyah Shrum, Hunter Miner, Grayson Miner, Jaxon Miner and Kye Shrum two sisters, Betty Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ouida Nardone of Boston, Massachusetts numerous family and friends, and her OU Football family, who she sat with for over twenty years.
