Don Irwin, 62, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of William Henry and Helen Edwina Youells Irwin. He was born on June 23, 1946 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Integris Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On April 12, 1969, Don married Gail Louise Klein in Cincinnati, Ohio. Don served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and from 1973-1975. He received a BA from Ohio University in March 1969 and a BS from the University of Cincinnati in December 1973. Don was a Systems AnalystProgrammer for the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education in Stillwater, Oklahoma until he retired in 2003. He had been a member of the Stagecoach Community Theatre since 1975 and was a charter organizer of the United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma in 1984. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Ed Cook will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Whitney Irwin and his wife, Holly, of Ledyard, Connecticut and Quinn A. Irwin of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Conor Irwin and Gretchen Irwin, both of Ledyard, Connecticut and one sister, Harriet Young of Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Irwin, one brother, William H. Irwin, Jr. and one sister, Katherine Welch.
