Delores Cooney

Delores Nadine Cooney, 81, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma died Friday, September 22, 2006 at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was born February 7, 1925 in Eddy, Oklahoma to Albert Hayden and Ora Gurteude Looper Stratton. Delores attended and graduated from Eddy High School. Delores was a member of the Christ the King Church in Wichita, Kansas. Delores married Ralph D. Cooney July 19, 1941 in Newkirk, Oklahoma and they were married for 64 years with him preceding her in death May 22, 2005. They moved south of Tonkawa before moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1954, living there for 35 years before moving back to Tonkawa and living here for the past nineteen years. A Memorial Service is set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006 at the Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the directions of Dugger Funeral Home Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Arthritis Foundation in care of Dugger Funeral Home, 400 East Grand, Tonkawa, Oklahoma, 74653. She is survived by her son, John Ralph Cooney of Vian, Oklahoma; her daughter, Alberta Sanborn of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; her brother, Loren Stratton of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Amy Jenkin of Georgia, John Cooney of Vian, OK, Earl Cooney of Tonkawa, OK, Rhiannon Sanborn of Wichita, KS, Michael Sanborn of Wichita, KS; and one great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph; her parents; a son Richard Dean Cooney; and a grandson, Bo.
