Daisy Heimbach

December 16, 1916 — March 11, 2009

Daisy Wilkins Heimbach, 92, of Billings, Oklahoma was the daughter of Harry and Minnie McCarty Skipper. She was born December 16, 1916 at the home of her uncle and aunt, Frank and Ida Skipper, on South 5th Street in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and left her earthly home Wednesday, March 11, 2009 to be with her Lord and Savior. Daisy died in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law, Freda Matthiesen Hough and Travis Hough, east of Billings. Daisy was surrounded by all of her children and many grandchildren when she departed. She lived all of her life in rural Kay and Noble counties. Daisy attended Fountain School, west of Tonkawa, and Tonkawa High School before graduating from Billings High School in 1937. She attended UPS, now known as NOC, in Tonkawa during the 1937-38 school years. Daisy met Frank Wilkins, of rural Marland, while they were both attending UPS and they were married on September 4, 1938. They lived in rural Noble County, near Marland and Red Rock, and then moved to the rural Billings area in 1946 where they raised their five children. Frank Wilkins died in 1972 and Daisy married Clyde Shine Heimbach in 1981. They resided in the rural Billings community until his death in 1989. Daisy was a very active member of the Billings Baptist Church and the Willing Worker Sunday School Class. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Daisy loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her family. She helped deliver food baskets to shut-ins. Daisy was a wonderful cook who was known for her apple pie and chicken and noodles. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Billings. Rev. Floyd Westfall will officiate. Interment will be in the River View Cemetery at Tonkawa. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Billings. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Billings or Companion Hospice in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Billings, Oklahoma 74630. Daisy is survived by one son, Jack Wilkins, of Porterville, California; four daughters, Mary Perks, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Ruth Petty, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Donna Turney, of Perry, Oklahoma and Freda Matthiesen Hough, of Billings, Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Ivers, of Carson City, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her first and second husbands, Frank Wilkins and Clyde Shine Heimbach, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Minnie Skipper, two granddaughters, one great-great-grandson and one brother.
