Claude Dowell, 86, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Elmer Frederick and Rose Bicking Dowell. He was born on February 8, 1919 in Perry, Oklahoma and died Monday, October 31, 2005 at his home. On July 10, 1999, Claude married Dorothy Snyder Johnson in Perry, Oklahoma. He had lived in the local community all his life and was a farmer-rancher. Claude was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Judith Karman Hospice or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Cancer Fund in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, survivors are two sons, Tom Dowell, of Dallas, Texas and Ben McBride, of Crane, Missouri; two daughters, Cheryle Leach, of Mulhall, Oklahoma, Clydean Inselman, of Willis, Oklahoma, two step-daughters, Shirley Van Hoesen and Darla Johnson, both of Perry, Oklahoma; 37 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. His parents, Elmer and Rose Dowell, two sisters, Dorothy HomesHayes and Vera Wells, one daughter, Darlene Abbott, one son, Wilber Dowell, three grandsons and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
