Clarence Vester

September 18, 1944 — July 28, 2009

Clarence Drip Vester, 64, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Eddie Vester and Rachel Rhone Vester and was the sixth of seven siblings. He was born September 18, 1944 at Perry, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Drip attended Blaine High School and later graduated from Perry High School, where he lettered in football. In 1966, he married Wanda Mae Bremby and in that union they had two children. In 1976, he and Susie Snodgrass were married and in that union they had two children. He worked as a butcher at Klein's Meat Market for 20 years. Drip then moved to Dodge City, Kansas where he worked two years at a meat packing plant. In 1983, he began working for the Department of Transportation where he was a surveyor until he retired after 23 years of employment. He met his loving, devoted wife of 13 years, Beverly Atkinson, who was right by his side until his death. Drip's favorite pastimes were enjoying his family and friends, riding his motorcycle with friends and making poker runs. He also enjoyed a cruise to St. Thomas, San Juan and St. Marten that he took with his nephew, Scoopy, his wife and family. He will be remembered as a loving, caring person who was fun to be around. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Perry. Rev. Pandora Crawford will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. In addition to his wife, Beverly, Drip leaves to cherish his memory one son, Terence Vester of Ciero, Texas; three daughters, La Cressa Tinsley of Ciero, Texas and Edie Vester and Jennifer Vester, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Edward Atkinson of Emporia, Kansas and Judge Crigler of Perry, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Chasity Crigler of Wichita, Kansas and Lucretia Farthing of Perry, Oklahoma; 22 grandchildren, two brothers, Basil Williams and his wife, Leota, of Wichita, Kansas and Lawrence Mutt Vester and his wife, Diane, of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister, Wanda Rhodes and her husband, John, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two aunts, Angeline Atkinson of Wichita, Kansas and Delia Richardson of Omaha, Nebraska; one uncle, Willie Vester of Perry, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Rachel Vester; two brothers, Cecil Williams and David Vester; and one sister, Isabell Vester Lawrence.
