Clair Seeliger

July 12, 1930 — January 8, 2012

Clair Edward Seeliger, 81, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Adolph William and Adeline Marie Emde Seeliger. He was born July 12, 1930 in Orlando, Oklahoma and died Sunday January 8, 2012 at the Perry Memorial Hospital. Clair served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years and was honorably discharged. He met his wife and best friend Marilyn Fay Adams and they were married on June 18, 1955 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Clair worked for Dolese Bros Co. in Enid for ten years and was the plant manager in Stillwater for twenty three years then retired in 1993. He was the owner and operator of Holiday Valley Christmas Tree Farms, where he enjoyed bringing Christmas cheer to every family he helped. Clair enjoyed woodworking, gardening and photography but above all he loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed assisting his sons with their many projects that came up around the house. Clair enjoyed helping people and he was able to do this by working as a staff member of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Clair was a member of the American Legion, Stillwater Kiwanis, Stillwater Homebuilders and the Stillwater Rotary Club. He was a member of the Oklahoma State Christmas Tree Association. Clair was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church where he served as Congregation President and as an Elder. He also was on the State Missions Board for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Clair will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather by all his friends and family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday January 12, 2012 at the Christ Lutheran Church of Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour or the Christ Lutheran Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Clair is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home two sons, Jeffrey Clair Seeliger and his wife, Charla from Edmond, Oklahoma, Eric William Seeliger and his wife, Beth of Perry, Oklahoma three grandchildren, Elissa Karen Grotefendt and her husband, Jonathan of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Michaela Clair Seeliger and Allison Kaye Seeliger both of Edmond, Oklahoma two brothers, Glen Seeliger of Perry, Oklahoma and Harlen Seeligier of Ardmore, Oklahoma one sister, Marlene Hafner of Orlando, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by both his parents two brothers, Lawrence Seeliger and Norman Seeliger one infant sister, Mildred Seeliger.
