Charles M. Barker, 75, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Charles was born April 13, 1930 in Salem, Arkansas the son of Charles T. and Bertha McGuffey Barker. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Tonkawa, Oklahoma with the Rev. Michael Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 2855 and American Legion Post 7. Arrangements are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Dugger Funeral Home, 400 E. Grand Tonkawa, Oklahoma 74653. Charles served during the Korean Conflict in the 45th Division of the U.S. Army. Charles and Roberta Vogt celebrated 55 years of marriage this year. He is survived by his wife Roberta of the home; his sons, Charles Criss Barker of Ponca City, Oklahoma, David Lee Barker of Meridian, Mississippi, Russell Todd Barker of Lincoln, Nebraska; his daughter, Barbara Ann Watson of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his mother, Bertha Barker of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Billy Barker of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mike Barker of Oregon; a sister, Betty Carol Phellps of Lawton, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Amanda Lee Watson, Michael Dale Schatz, Bernie David Dugan; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
