Cecil Gottfried

Cecil Edward Gottfried, 81, of Stillwater, Oklahoma left his journey from this life on Friday, February 1, 2019. Cecil was born January 16, 1938, out at the old Lawrence home in Perry, Oklahoma, to Mitis Benjaminfranklin Gottfried and Elsie May (Jenkins) Gottfried. Cecil went to school in Coyle Oklahoma until the 7th grade. He married Carolyn Sue (Boyce) Gottfried on May 1, 1963 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Cecil proved his worth to be a man of many talents through versatility and skill. Cecil's years of employment included Oklahoma State University, where he worked as a custodian and trash haller, Friendly Mobile Homes, and the Perry Power Plant. Cecil has lived in Glencoe, Coyle, and finally Stillwater, but he has always called Perry, Oklahoma his home. He enjoyed his western movies, music, coon hunting and raising his cows. Cecil was also a proud member of the Stillwater Moose Lodge. Cecil is survived by two daughters Cela Sue Shaddy, Stillwater, and Sandra Kay Wade and husband Donald, Stillwater, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother Leon Gottfried and sister Ginger Garringer both of Perry, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Boyce Gottfried, one son Carl Edward Gottfried Sr., parents Mitis and Elsie Gottfried, and siblings Freda Terrell, Walter Gottfried, Gertie Warden, Charlie Gottfried, Ruby Slavens, Rose Bays, Edna Slavens, Overl Gottfried, Gene Gottfried, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Services are entrusted to Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday, February 7, at Brown Dugger Funeral Home from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, the family will be present from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm to receive guest. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Friday, February 8 in the pavilion at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma, with a memorial gathering and dinner to follow at the Stillwater Moose Lodge, 301 S. Perkins Road between the hours of 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
