Billy Pollard

October 19, 1933 — January 23, 2018

Billy Ray Pollard, "Borden Bill", 84, of Oklahoma City went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2018. He was born October 19, 1933 in Tipton, Oklahoma . He graduated from Frederick High School in 1951. Shortly after graduation he married his high school sweetheart Peggy Joyce Wilson and began a 66 year marriage.
With his contagious smile and loving personality, he happily gave more than he received and made friends with everyone he met. He faced his medical challenges with strength, determination, and joy that astounded and inspired everyone who witnessed his daily victories.
Billy worked on road construction building highways all over Oklahoma while he and Peggy pulled a small travel trailer. They later moved to Oklahoma City and he started work at Borden's Milk Company. In 1969 he purchased the Borden milk distributor route in Perry, Oklahoma and soon became loved as "Borden Bill". Many Perry kids remember chasing down the truck for a free ice cream bar and a ride in the milk truck. He continued home delivery to his cherished customers until 1990. The couple moved to Oklahoma City and managed Garden Gate Condominiums. In 2016, he and Peggy went to work for Mid State Management. Opening and managing the 408 storage units for the U-Stor Meridian location for 20 years. This is where he taught his grandchildren how to drive a golf cart and the love of dumpster diving. Billy was the hardest worker you would ever meet, working until his stroke at 82 years old. Anyone who spent time with Bill was charmed by his beaming smile and his easy, genuine laugh and a good joke. Billy could often be found fixing or building something as he was a jack of all trades. Family and time spent with them was the most important in Billy's life.
Funeral Services will be held at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6-8 pm.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Pollard, grandparents Joseph and Dora Pollard, daughter-in-law Terry Lynn Pollard, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Joyce Pollard. His son Jerry Bruce Pollard and Lori, of Perry, Oklahoma, daughter Terri Lyn Young and Kyle of Granbury, Texas, and son Scott Pollard and Emily, of Houston, Texas. He is survived by grandchildren, Billy Joe Pollard and Jenni, Jamie Horner, Dustin Young and Tammy, Brandy Houska and Brady, Derek Young and Morgan Scott, Andrew Stone and Rachel, Joseph Pollard, and Jordan Pollard and 5 great grandchildren Bella and Ashton Pollard, Matthew Stone, Braylen Houska, and Elizabeth Young. And his faithful Yorkie Mandy.
To all who held PaPa's hand, physically and spiritually though his courageous struggle, the family wishes to say, "Thank you and we love you."
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you share ice cream with a child, help someone in need or tell a good joke.
