Betty Jo (Cook) Green was received into her Saviors Arms at the age of 82 in Enid, OK. She was born on July 2, 1934 to Ben and Lillie Cook in Barnsdall, OK. Services will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Orlando Christian Church with Rev. Gilbert Forrest and Dewey Gideon officiating. Burial will follow at Morris Height Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family greeting friends and family from 5p.m. to 7 p.m.
The youngest of 13 children, she had many stories to tell about growing up in a large family in Orlando. On January 19, 1952, she and John Allen Green were married in Perry, OK. They started a whirlwind of traveling to numerous jobs with Betty joining him whenever she could. While her husband was serving with the army in Germany, Betty stayed with her brothers and sisters helping with their children making special bonds with the many nieces and nephews left in her care.
John and Betty lived in Perry and Ponca City before moving back to Orlando in 1969 to raise their family. Betty was a lifetime member of the Orlando Christian Church attending in her early adolescent and returning to her home church when she moved back to Orlando.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Betty enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and quilting. Betty loved her children and grandchildren. She supported them with her prayers, attended ball games, and many other school functions.
Betty is survived by her two sons and daughter; Johnnie Jr. and wife JoVona of Mulhall, OK, Jeff and wife Pam of Del City, OK, Kathy and husband John of Orlando, OK. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Dani Watson and husband Kenton of Guthrie, OK, Kayla Stewart and husband Joey of Stillwater, OK, Sarah Senter of Clyde, NC, Sami Davis and husband Greg of Broken Arrow, OK, Justie Golay and wife Tiffany of Yukon, OK, Laurie Green of Waynesville, NC, and three step grandchildren Jeff Oldenburg and wife Dusty of Mulhall, OK, Joline Oldenburg of Mulhall, OK, Jason Oldenburg and wife Stacy of Maud, OK. She is also survived by her sisters Frances Hardy of Cowetta, CO, Ellie Owen of Guthrie, OK and Addie Belle Green of Perry, OK. She is also survived by two sister-in laws, one brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.
Betty loved her children and grandchildren but the great grandchildren Chelsey, Josie, and Reid Watson, JaLeigh, Callen, and Lincoln Oldenburg, Jaycee and Cooper Oldenburg, Will and Hudson Stewart, Jameson Senter, Kate and Henry Davis, Ben and Claire Golay, Kiera Barlor, Ashton Heald, and Kyler and Allissa Williams truly stole her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.
