Bertha Albertina Busse, 100, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Albert and Albertine Panknin Busse. She was born January 28, 1905 at the Busse family farm home, southeast of Perry, where she resided until September, 1980 when she moved to her home in Perry. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at Christ Lutheran Church at Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Bertha attended rural school, New Hope District 75, and was a member of the Noble County eighth grade graduation class of 1921. She attended Bible school at Richburg, Oklahoma, southeast of Perry. She was baptized as an infant and was a member of the confirmation class of Richburg Lutheran Church in July, 1919. She later became a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Bertha was a rural news correspondent for The Perry Daily Journal and the Payne County News Press. She played piano for evening church services at Bethel Church in Payne County, New Hope School District 75 and Fairview School District 76. Her hobbies were baking cookies, cinnamon rolls and angel food cakes and caring for her indoor and outdoor plants, especially Hawaiian hibiscus and roses. She enjoyed the companionship of her little dog, Charlie. Bertha is survived by five nieces, Carolyn Chopp, Laura Sappington and Margie Cowell, all of Perry, Oklahoma, Zelma Peters, of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Phyllis Chopp, of Garden City, Kansas; one nephew, Clifford Busse, of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Belle Busse, of Perry, Oklahoma; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, including her twin, Herman, who died in infancy, August, Albert, Johann, Ernest, Henry, Walter and Rudolph; three sisters, Ottilie Tela, Wilhelmina Minnie and Marie; two nieces, Dorothy Gilley and Wilma Buffington; and one nephew, A.
