August Robert Brunken, 84, of Garber, Oklahoma was born on August 2, 1933 to Gustav Walter Brunken and Anna (Goeller) Brunken. He passed from this life on June 22, 2018 at Greenbrier Village in Enid after a short battle with cancer.
August graduated from Garber High School in 1951 and from Oklahoma A & M in 1955 where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. After graduation, he joined the United States Army. August spent two years in the active military, then returned home to farm. He continued his military service in the Army Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 1962.
August was an independent farmer for most of his life. For several years he owned and operated Brunken Agri Sales. He enjoyed keeping up with new farming technology and agricultural ideas. He designed and built many of the structures and equipment used on the farm. August was a hardworking man and a loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.

A memorial service for August will held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10 am in the Bread of Life Center in Garber, Oklahoma. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
