Arthur Rupp

Arthur Charles Rupp, 81, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Lee and Emillie Wierzba Rupp. He was born December 13, 1926 in Sumner, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Art was a 1944 graduate of Sumner High School. He and Charlotte Bay were married on November 10, 1946 at Sumner, Oklahoma. He farmed, was a cattle rancher and custom harvester and owned Bill's Corner Trading Post for several years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Art enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, visiting with friends and acquaintances, fishing and flea markets. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate, assisted by Pastor Dan Thimell. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, southeast of Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. A family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Judith Karman Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to his wife Charlotte, Art is survived by two sons, John Rupp and his wife Lisa, and Marvin Rupp and his wife Mary, all of Perry, Oklahoma; two daughters, Benita Beier, of Perry, Oklahoma and Barbara Rose and her husband Jerry, of Middleburg, Florida; one brother, Robert Rupp and his wife Dorothy, of Perry, Oklahoma; three sisters, Irene Pagel and her husband Walter, Alice Kopp and her husband Fred, and Evelyn Williams and her husband Melvin, all of Perry, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Rink, of Covington, Oklahoma and Beverly Bay, of Perry, Oklahoma; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Bay and his wife Lila, and Donald Keith, all of Perry, Oklahoma and Donald Bay and his wife Wynema, of Orlando, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Emillie Rupp; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Rink, LaVern Bay, Karen Keith and Floyd and Pauline Bay.
